Zengroup Wageningen is organizing a ZenSunday at KenKon on February 11th.
This ZenSunday is organised in collaboration with the zengroup Wageningen, KenKon and Spectrum. The day is guided by Olaf van Kooten, an acknowledged Zen teacher in the Lin Qi Chan lineage. He has been studying under different masters in the last 50 years.
We will sit together in silence, aiming to connect with the common space that connects us all. During the day will explore a text from Huang Po, a renowned Zen Master from 9th century China. Given that this text originates from a different time and culture, we will try to bring it into our present life and see what it can tell us. The day is meant to inspire us to deepen our meditation practice and to clear up doubts or questions through a personal one-on-one conversation with the teacher. Periods of zazen alternate with walking meditation and movement exercises.
The day includes a vegetarian lunch with soup and bread. After zazen in the afternoon, we conclude with a short Buddhist service.
You can sign up by email at Zeninwageningen@gmail.com. To cover all expenses together we ask for a membership fee 35 euros. If you are tight on money we suggest a contribution of 20 euros. Please pay cash on the day. Spectrum offers a reduced donation for students to participate in this day for 10 EUR. More info in the attachment. 10 places available.
