Weekend intensive – Yogic Meditation

14 December 15 December

With Sydney Leijenhorst

Meditation Empowered by The Yogic technology of Body, Breath & Mind

[tsalung trülkhor & tummo]

‘Yogic meditation’ is deeply embodied meditation. It works with the inter-relatedness of body, breath & mind  [tendrel]. This does not only bring depth of experience, but also sustainability, in the light of ever changing life circumstances.

Movements that relax & open the body; various breathing methods that free up ones energy; energy work that evokes transformative bliss-warmth [tummo]; and visualizations, together form the yogic aspect of the meditation. The yogic meditation prepares and opens the ground for ‘deep meditation’, that goes beyond our habitual ‘me-operating system’[1], and thus propels one to inner freedom or liberation.

Yogic meditation supports the opening and awakening of our mind, heals the disturbed bond between body and mind, boosts and regulates our vitality, and connects us to our innate heart qualities – such as e.g. love, compassion, joy, equanimity, openness or creativity.

From a modern neurological perspective these yogic and deep meditation methods can e.g. be seen as balancing sympathetic and parasympathetic systems, regulating the vagus nerve, activating neurological networks that play a role in so-called ‘flow states’, etc.

The tsalung trülkhor & tummo practices used as a support, come for the major part from the Bön tradition as taught by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. Augmented with insights and practices from other Tibetan and Chinese yogic, meditative or martial arts.

Sydney Leijenhorst has 45+ years of experience with meditative, yogic and martial arts. His approach is rooted in gratitude for traditions and curiosity towards modern insights and approaches.

Message for the practitioners of Tibetan meditation & yoga @ KenKon, Integral Life and Training Centre and potential guests for the TY session tomorrow:

Dear all,

Unfortunately there is no Tibetan Yoga class tomorrow, September 6. The traffic from here to Hamburg seems more challenging than I was used to. And I have to teach karate from Friday early evening to Sunday afternoon. Therefor I need to leave before 10 h. I realized this too late and was not able to find a replacement for my me in time. My apologies.

If you had any friends that planned to come – alone or with you – please let them know that there is no session, but that they are welcome next Friday.

I look forward to see you again next week at the meditation or yoga classes. Let’s make it a wonderful year!

Warm regards,

Sydney
