Zengroep Wageningen is hosting another movie night on Wednesday, April 22, in collaboration with Spectrum, Spiritual Ecology & KenKon. We begin at 7:30 PM with 30 minutes of meditation, after which we transform the Zendo into a cinema with popcorn & tea and screen the film Just Our Heart. You are welcome to join us for the meditation and the movie or to come at 8.00 just for the movie.
About the movie:
Just Our Heart, a feature documentary by Maartje Nevejan, explores grief as a deeply personal and collective experience—spanning the emotional, ecological, colonial, and spiritual. Sparked by the loss of her partner and her children’s response to a world in crisis, Nevejan steps aside to create a cinematic ritual shaped by grief doulas, ritualists, and spiritual thinkers, in collaboration with ecologist Dr. Monica Gagliano and Zen priest Roshi Joan Halifax. Expanding the space of mourning to include silenced voices—the dead, the exploited, and the Earth itself—the film offers no easy answers, but it invites us to remain with the wound, to see grief not as something to resolve, but as a force that can open, connect, and transform.
